Make a donation below to help support me on my music journey! Everything and anything helps when it comes to equipment and recording expenses, (especially because I'm left-handed, so guitars are very pricey). Your support means everything and I'm so grateful for you! Thank you! - Kailey

About Me
My name is Kailey Watson, (pronounced KY-LEE), and I'm a 15 year old singer-songwriter and musician. I was born & raised right here in Charlotte, NC! My dad is a music teacher so music has been in my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I remember writing my own songs in my room hoping to one day be the next Taylor Swift. My dad is from Honolulu, Hawai'i, so naturally my first instrument other than my voice was a ukulele. I remember watching Grace VanderWaal on America's Got Talent in 2nd grade; I BEGGED my parents to let me play ukulele so I could be like her. Though my parents insisted that I wait to buy a left-handed ukulele so I wouldn't have trouble playing in the future, I convinced my dad to give me one of his ukuleles, (right-handed), and I started teaching myself. From 2nd grade to 4th grade I wrote songs using my ukulele. When I was in 5th grade, COVID started, and I started playing guitar, (left-handed thankfully haha). My dad started teaching me guitar, (that's his thing. My new single "Drop The Bottle" comes out THIS SUNDAY and he plays guitar & bass on the track, so get ready to hear how good he is). I wrote even more songs on guitar and I started signing up for voice competitions through zoom. In 7th grade, I started homeschooling which allowed much more flexibility around my music. I released my first song, "Champagne Chandelier" and realized that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I loved writing songs and sharing them with people! This past year I've been writing, performing, and growing as an artist more than ever! My dream is to make it big one day and do what I LOVE! I'm so thankful for my mom for bringing me to all of my gigs and making sure I always have everything I need. She's my biggest fan! And I'm so thankful for Charlotte and everyone who supports me! I can't wait to give it all back one day! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
